We are fitting more and more Automatic Pop Hole Openers to our Chicken Houses, and, having used them ourselves can say what a handy gadget they are ! Good for the late risers amongst us and even better for those of us who appreciate a nice glass or two of Red knowing that our chickens are out doing what chickens do early in the morning and that they will be secure in their Chicken House in the evening while we may be working late or maybe in the Bar !

We always use the VSBi model which allows us to fit the unit to the inside of the Chicken House tucked away from our Great British weather and keeping the clean lines and good looks of our Chicken Housing. The VSBi model opens and closes the pop hole door in the Chicken House according to the light conditions i.e opening the door in the morning and closing the door in the evening.

This automatic control device can be used wherever a vertical sliding gate is to be opened and closed in response to light conditions at dawn and dusk, for instance, on a henhouse, etc.

The sensitivity of the system is adjustable. Using our timers, it is possible to open and to close the sliding gate according to the time setting or to open it according to the time setting and to close it in response to the light conditions at dusk

The VSB unit is suitable for outside installation, is weatherproof, can readily be exposed to sunlight and is insensitive to lightning stroke.

Mounting is very easy: Open the sliding gate, fasten it on the VSB unit and insert the batteries.

The lower stop will be automatically "chosen" by the sliding gate, i.e., when the latter reaches the lower position.
The maximum stroke length of 50 cm can be increased, upon request. The system makes it also possible to operate several sliding gates via idlers.

Power supply: 4 type AA (LR6) alkaline batteries.

Latest Modifications:

• Compact geared motor with steel gears ensuring extremely long life.
• Battery life now 3 to 4 years with an HS sliding gate or 2 years with a 1.5-kg sliding
    gate featuring a 50-cm lift.
• Doorkeeper operates considerably more quietly now.
• Thanks to 40-kg breaking strength, the rope can hardly break any more.
• Electronic shutdown of motor within one second when the sliding gate is blocked.
    Once the blockage is removed, the sliding gate will be opened within three minutes.
    The strain on the batteries is virtually negligible.
• Tensile force: 200 g to to 3 kg, with idler UR on the sliding gate (pulley) 6 kg.

We had the VSB door opener fitted on our new Hen house with it 10ft covered run.Our 10 Ex battery hens soon got the hang of going up the ladder to bed just as it was getting dusk and appox.15 mins later the VSB door was closing making them safe inside. So if we are late getting home at night there is no worry about shuting the hens in before foxs are out and about.A real worry out in the country side. During the summer months. put food and water in the covered run,and the chickens are out a good hour and a half befor me rising at 7am. A vital piece of kit for peace of mind and the welfare of your hens.Worth every pound.

We decided to get this to ensure that when we're away our chicken minder could cope but now we have it, we can't believe how good it is. Especially with these dark evenings we can leave the chickens to go to bed, and not worry about having to be there just as they've all decided to go inside. It works perfectly, opening up just as it's getting light and closing after they are all inside. The fitting service was also excellent. Every chicken keeper should have one!

Well we decided to have an automatic pop hole door opener, particularly with the onset of winter coming.

We had ours fitted last night and thoroughly pleased to bits with it, we never thought that device could make so much of a difference.

We came down this morning to put the feed in for the girls, the pop hole was open but the girls were too comfortable to come out!

Fantastic device and worth every penny!
